Sailing Before The Wind is a Japanese metalcore outfit formed in Tokyo in 2011. Throughout its history, the fully independent band has gone through numerous line-up changes, with bassist and composer Bitoku (known as a touring bassist for Crystal Lake), serving as the only original member. The band continued with Bitoku with four touring members since 2015, but in 2023 the band moved on to a new chapter with the addition of three official members.

The band gained a growing underground fan base from their 2012 EP Judgement, followed by 2016 EP Sanctuary. After releasing 6 EPs and 1 live album, the band highly recognized in Japanese metalcore scene in recent years.
